Help Wanted

Are you looking for an exciting workplace, an opportunity to stimulate your mind and exercise your body? The Cornucopia is at the forefront of the naturally grown market garden renaissance in Northwest Iowa and Southeast South Dakota. Our diversified vegetable farm offers the chance for motivated individuals to be involved in all parts of its vegetable growing operation from growing to marketing and be a part of developing a sustainable agriculture in the Upper Midwest.

We hire our largest work crews from June through August, but we are always interested in talking to qualified individuals who may be available earlier and later in the season as well.  Extra workers are needed outside the main season for big planting jobs like onions and potatoes on Saturdays in early April and May as well as late harvest in the fall.

When it comes to farm work, we live by the motto “Eat Well, Get Dirty, Have Fun.” The Cornucopia enjoys a diverse workforce with respect and a positive attitude. We believe that good work, done mindfully and well, has the ability to transform ourselves and our world.

Local farms change the food system by becoming robust businesses and consistently providing large amounts of high quality organically grown food to their customers, with whom they build strong, professional relationships. We are looking for employees who embody this attitude.

We are looking for individuals who are hardworking (able to lift 40 pounds), good communicators, reliable and punctual.  These individuals should have reliable transportation, be able to drive and be ready to work when they arrive each day.  Work will involve planting, cultivating, harvesting and various related tasks.  In addition, they should be willing to receive feedback on performance and be able and willing to make adjustments to their work based on this feedback.

If this is the type of work that interests you, we encourage you to find out more about our farm by going to our website or by checking out our Facebook page.
